John P. Nilmeier, CFP, CLU
Investment Adviser Representative with United Planners Financial Services
John graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Fresno in 2004 with a degree in Business Administration and an emphasis in Financial Planning. As a member of the university's Honors Program, he authored a thesis on Social Security privatization, which led to invitations to present his research at two academic symposiums.
John is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®). He holds Series 7, 24, and 66 securities licenses, as well as an insurance license. He serves as a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative with United Planners Financial Services.
A dedicated supporter of his alma mater, John has held numerous leadership roles at Fresno State, including serving as President of the Craig School of Business Alumni Board and President of the Business Associates. He currently serves on the Dean's Advisory Council.
John is also deeply involved in the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). Throughout his career, he has served the organization in many leadership capacities, including as President of his local chapter. At the state level, he served on the NAIFA California Board of Trustees and was President of NAIFA California during the 2018–2019 term. In addition, he has been active with the Fresno Estate Planning Council.
John and his wife, Tracy, have two children. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly hiking and backpacking. He also enjoys coaching his children's sports teams and staying active by playing sports with his family.
